Speaker Bio
Dr. Lin received her B.S. (1991) and M.S. (1993) degrees from National Taiwan University and her Ph.D. (1998) in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins University. She did her postdoctoral training in immunology and B cell biology at Columbia University. She started her independent research career at Genomics Research Center, Academia Sinica, as an Assistant Research Fellow in 2004 and was promoted to Associate Research Fellow, Research Fellow, and Distinguished Research Fellow in 2009, 2014, and 2022, respectively. She has also been appointed as an adjunct Professor at the Institute of Immunology, National Taiwan University. Since Dec. 2014. she has been the Division Head of Medical Biology at the Genomics Research Center. Her research combines molecular biology and genetically modified animals to study the regulatory mechanisms in immune cell development/function, focusing on transcriptional regulation and glyco-immunobiology. Her group is particularly interested in understanding how glycan modification regulates the differentiation of B cells into antibody-secreting plasma cells. Her group is also keen to understand how glycans may affect antigenicity in vaccine design.
