Dr. Teresa Freire obtained his BS and Ph.D degrees from the University of the Republic in Uruguay. After her post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. C. Leclerc (Institut Pasteur, París, France), she joined the School of Medicine in Uruguay, in the area of Immunology as a faculty member. Her research has focused on the immunoregulatory role of glycans and C-type lectin receptos both in infection and cancer.
