I am Paula Videira, leader of the Glycoimmunology Research Group at UCIBIO, Associate Professor in Immunology and Glycobiology at NOVA School of Science and Technology, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA-FCT, PT). I am highly motivated to comprehend the intricate roles of glycans in diseases, and I am dedicated to translating Glycosciences into innovative immunotherapies. I co- direct CDG&Allies, and in 2019, I co-founded CellmAbs, a spin-off developing glycan-based immunotherapies and recently, I co-founded Valvian a novel biopharmaceutical centered on AI-driven novel immune therapies. My education includes a Biochemistry degree, a MSc and a PhD in Biotechnology and a Habilitation in Biology from NOVA FCT. I was a Erasmus fellow at Bergen University (NO), fellow at CERMAV (FR, 1999) and a post-doctoral researcher at IST (PT, 2002-2005) during my training. I created a solid network coordinating several European projects (eg, GLYCOTwinning, Prodgne) and as visiting professor at renowned universities such as Bologna University (IT), Harvard Medical School, as EMBO and Fulbright Commission fellow and Federal University of Ceará (BR).
