Dr. Pamela Stanley
Speaker Bio
Dr. Pamela Stanley pursued postdoctoral studies with Dr. Louis Siminovitch in Toronto from late 1972 to early 1976. After isolating lectin-resistant CHO mutants, a collaboration with Harry Schachter in Biochemistry revealed a defective GlcNAc-transferase activity in Lec1. Dr. Stanley has worked ever since at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York characterizing CHO glycosylation mutants and mouse glycosyltransferase mutants and using them to define roles for glycans in mammalian biology, particularly in growth factor and Notch signaling, in reproduction and in immune cell development.
